A game-changing site power step up

In the heart of rural Lilongwe, BPF Malawi’s Mtema community centre stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity, thanks to the transformative projects initiated by BPF Malawi and supported by key charity partners, in this case the Murphy family. The centre has recently undergone significant enhancements, including the installation of 4 solar geysers, 1 booster pump and 3 solar batteries, maximising the NGO’s potential for program delivery and hosting guests.

The installation of solar geysers at the Mtema community centre is a game-changer, providing hot water for all visitors and ensuring a comfortable experience. Adding solar batteries to the existing solar power system means that the entire site will be powered effectively and sustainably, benefiting the environment and enhancing the centre for visitors.

These upgrades enable BPF Malawi to increase its revenue-generating capabilities by hosting more local guests and international volunteers, contributing through participation and fundraising activities. Offering comfortable accommodation and amenities makes BPF Malawi’s centre an appealing choice for community service and experiencing Malawi’s culture.

The successful implementation of these projects is a testament to the collective efforts of BPF, local contractors and the charity’s partners. Special thanks goes to the Murphy family, whose generous donation made these developments possible. Their commitment to improving local lives through sport and education exemplifies BPF’s spirit of collaborative partnerships.

“BPF Malawi’s Mtema community centre is not just a facility; it is a hub of transformation where sport, education, and sustainability converge. With these solar installations, BPF Malawi is well-equipped to enhance its programs, attract volunteers and raise essential funds to continue its impactful work. Support from the Murphy family and other partners ensures BPF can continue uplifting communities through meaningful initiatives.”
