In a powerful collaboration that embodies the spirit of unity and empowerment, Bhubesi Pride Foundation (BPF) and the adidas Foundation have joined forces to transform the lives of children with disabilities and young girls in Malawi. Through the United by Sport program, this partnership aims to dismantle the barriers of inequality and discrimination, fostering an environment where every Malawian child can thrive through sports.
Through this partnership, adidas Foundation is supporting Bhubesi Pride Foundation to develop contextualised sports for development toolkits, specifically designed to engage children with disabilities and young girls in meaningful sports activities. This approach not only promotes physical health but also instills confidence and leadership skills, enabling these children to become agents of change within their communities. By participating in sports, they learn valuable life skills that empower them to challenge societal norms and advocate for their rights.
The partnership goes beyond immediate sports programming. BPF will undertake a comprehensive review of its strategic plan for 2022-2025, laying the groundwork for a robust strategy for 2026-2031. This strategic foresight is crucial for ensuring that BPF continues to effectively address the challenges faced by young people in Malawi, particularly those related to gender inequality and disability. The focus on strategic planning will enhance BPF’s capacity to implement impactful sports for development programs that resonate with the needs of the community.
In addition to strategic planning, BPF will refine its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) procedures. This enhancement will ensure that BPF not only tracks its progress but also learns from its experiences, fostering an environment of continuous improvement. By prioritising accountability, BPF aims to build trust with various partners and ensure that resources are utilised effectively to maximise impact.
“With a vision rooted in inclusivity and empowerment, Bhubesi Pride Foundation is committed to uplifting communities through sports. The partnership with adidas Foundation represents a significant step forward in this mission.”
Nohara S. Chinguwo, Executive Director, BPF Malawi
As more children gain access to sports and development opportunities, they are not just participants; they are becoming leaders who inspire others. This belief drives BPF’s commitment to creating a brighter future where every child can overcome obstacles and contribute positively to society.
