Isaac N’Goma

Meet Malawian Isaac N’Goma in video as he shares how rugby is impacting his life in Lilongwe

18-year-old Isaac started playing rugby for the Bhubesi Lions and quickly developed a passion for the sport. Since 2017, he has been involved in the delivery of the charity’s projects in Lilongwe; first as a coach during the expedition volunteer program and now as a coach who regularly delivers sessions in primary and secondary schools. Isaac is also a player/coach for the Bhubesi Lions club side.

Isaac’s journey sees him progress from player with Bhubesi Lions, to buddy coach, to coaching regularly on our development program and being Wordsworth Rashid’s right-hand and, now, to joining the Pride on our expedition.

Meet Isaac in this short video

In 2019, thanks to a grant from The Bill McLaren Foundation, Isaac joins the Pride for 4 weeks of the charity’s expedition in Malawi & Zambia. Our aim is to further Isaac’s personal and professional development and enable him an opportunity to follow his passion.

Isaac is having an increasing impact on Lilongwe’s Area 25/49 community as he is able to pass on his growing passion and knowledge to the next generation of players and coaches.
