London to Paris fundraising cycle with the Rugby Centurions

BPF teams up with the prestigious Rugby Centurions on a charity fundraising cycle from London to Paris

From Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th October, 43 cyclists embarked on a 290 km ride from Twickenham Stadium to Paris. Cycling in three groups over three consecutive days, the event was joined by 9 Rugby Centurions – Gonçalo Uva, George Gregan, Donna Kennedy, John Smit, Tamara Taylor, Sean Lamont, Rocky Clark, Nathan Sharpe and Amy Garnett.

Individuals and teams set up fundraising profiles on BPF’s online Enthuse platform and a formal Rugby Centurions dinner was also held in Paris. Both events – the cycle and fundraising dinner – followed months of preparation by a dedicated organising committee. On behalf of Bhubesi Pride Foundation, we’d like to extend our sincere thank you to Chris Evans, Phil Corral and their team, the Rugby Centurions, everyone who took part in the cycle and raised funds for BPF (inspiring an incredible 570+ sponsors to donate), and European Cycling Tours (ECT) for facilitating all the required logistics from start to finish.

So far, our collective fundraising total is over £24,000!

Rugby Centurions CEO, Chris Evans, told BPF: “It’s been an amazing opportunity for the Rugby Centurions to partner with Bhubesi Pride Foundation. We do celebrate the men and women who have won 100 or more test caps for their country but actually we’re a force for good, and this is just one example of how the collective strength of these individuals can combine to make a real difference in [Malawian] communities that need it most. A wonderful occasion, an amazing bike ride and fantastic to be part of a foundation making a true difference.”
